Gatitude

Its 1:00 in the afternoon here and I just got home from the golf course. My wife is fixing lunch for our daughter before we head out for the afternoon to get her a new bike and run a few more errands. How many people out there can say that about a friday? If you look at Facebook all your news feeds are TGIF or I can't wait to get out of here. A lot of them are already moaning that Monday will be here in a few days!

My point is this, be grateful for what you have and your life will have a lot better flow to it. All of that TGIF and moaning about the weekend being too short is, in essence, making it shorter. If you don't like going to work on Mondays then start making the decisions that will allow you to play golf during the week while everyone else is at work, like I get to do. Or, do whatever it is that you look forward to. What most people don't understand is that they are not victims of the circumstances, but victims of their own decisions. You see, every decision you have ever made has led you to where you are right now.

If you want to change your job or your life then you must first change the way you think. Be grateful for what you already have, and start making the decisions that will get you towards your goal. If you want to lose weight, begin to think of yourself as a thin person, and the chocolate cake will be easier to resist. Want a promotion at work, begin to see yourself in that position, and you will become that person. Want to strike out on your own and be self-employed? Then make the decision that is who you want to be and take all out massive action. We only get one go around at life, live it the way you want to and you will never have any regrets. People have always given me a hard time because I always went against the grain, but I played golf three days this week while they were at work.

Creating Value

"Instead of struggling to get one up on everyone, raise your awareness to the point that the competition is insignificant. Get in the habit of creating value and you won't feel the need to take it from others." -anonymous

I ran across this quote last year sometime and it stuck with me. I wrote it down on one of my many yellow legal pads scattered throughout my life and I spent some time digging it out. The reason for this post is mindset. Mindset is everything, 99% of your success in what ever your field you are in is due to your mindset. A positive attitude adds value to any situation it is thrown into, and a negative one destroys value. We've all known the guy at the office that is doom and gloom. Nobody wants to be around that guy for very long unless they are just as miserable as he is, and everyone knows that misery loves company.

My point is this, the wealth conscious mind rises above the competition. We know that their is enough for everyone. It is in my best interest that you become as successful as you want to be. You cannot help the poor by being poor. You cannot help the hungry by going hungry. To be successful and to live abundantly is why we are here, we aren't to hold back our wants and desires. We are to embrace them, achieve our goals, live our dreams, be exactly who you want to be. Lead by example. How could I possibly tell my children that they can be anything they want to be and then settle for some job that I hate. Live your dreams, and then they will know it to be possible. You won't have to tell them.

Create value by being a leader. Be the person who exemplifies the ideal. Strive for greatness and be willing to help those who want to achieve it as well. Keep your focus on your goals and move straight toward them. Obstacles will become nonexistent because you will enjoy the challenge of finding something new to overcome it. With each passing day come more knowledge, new ideas, and new ways of thinking. Enjoy every moment of everyday, get lost in the wonder of the world around you. Live life without excuses, face your responsibility, and love with all your heart. Appreciate and express gratitude for everyone and everything around you, love what you do and do what you love and then you will be creating value.
